ICI Hires Sailesh K. Jha as Senior Economist Focusing on International Issues

Washington, DC, December 18, 2017—The Investment Company Institute has named Sailesh K. Jha as a senior economist. Jha is an experienced international economist who most recently served as chief Asia economist for Credit Suisse Singapore. He will be based in Washington, DC, and focus on international issues on behalf of ICI, interfacing frequently with the London and Hong Kong offices of ICI Global, ICI’s international program.

“As a seasoned international economist, Sailesh brings a wealth of financial market knowledge to the ICI team,” said incoming Chief Economist Sean Collins. “His vast experience, particularly in Asia, will increase the depth to our global research. We are thrilled that he is joining our team.”

Before joining ICI, Jha spent nearly two decades as an economist throughout the Asia-Pacific region. He has held various positions with the Asian Development Bank, Credit Suisse Investment Bank, Barclays Capital, Jefferies Singapore Ltd., and DBS Bank, and was a faculty member at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Jha holds a PhD in economics from the University of Washington. He also holds a master’s degree in economics, a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, and a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from Boston University.
